Three years to the month following the Israeli assault in Lebanon, the PCRF sent 13-year-old Mohammed Moussa Al-Hajj from the Rashideya refugee camp near the port city of Tyre to Malaysia in cooperation with the Malaysia Relief Agency (MRA) for free medical care that was not available to him in Lebanon. Mohammed lost both legs from an Israeli shell while playing in the streets and will be fitted for new prosthesis and have surgery in Malaysia. Dr. Hyzan Yusof and Mr. Shirajuddin Sirat greeted Mohammed upon his arrival in Malaysia and are working hard to provide him the care that he needs. This is the first child that the PCRF and the MRA have cooperated on in treating abroad, though the PCRF has sponsored previous surgery missions by Malaysian surgeons to Lebanon and Syria.
The PCRF is working with the MRA to send an injured Iraqi girl for treatment there as well. |

30 April – 02 May 2010 : There were 15 sahabat (friends of) MRA who went to Pos Bersih for “Tautan Kasih 2”. We were received by Pak Mat and his family. As we arrived at 10.00 pm, we set base and started cooking for dinner. Some of us slept in tents and some in Pak Mat’s house.
The next day, we divided ourselves into groups. One group continued to work on the building of the community hall; one group to cook and one group carried out activities for children.
En. Shahrin a sahabat of MRA led a music programme. He added some innovations to the traditional sewang music using a combination of drums and the traditional instruments of the orang asli.
Work had came to a halt on the day before we left as one of the 4 wheel drive got stuck while we were sourcing for wood to make pillars for the community hall. It was indeed a great challenge but we managed to get out of the situation and moved out for home at 5.00pm in the evening.
