Sewing telekung using  unique art form known as “Sulaman Bordir” has been the source of income for the women of Padang Pariman, West Sumatera for many years now.

The women normally sew the telekung in their home with aid of sewing machines kown as “Mesin Bordir”. The recent earthquake has not only destroyed many of their homes but also disrupted their means of a livelihood.

We at MRA want to assist these women to start their business again by providing them each with a sewing machine. These machines cost RM1,000 each. To kick start this project we need RM50,000 to purchase 50 “Mesin Bordir” for 50 women.
