Welcome to Malaysian Relief Agency
Relief Year: 2009
On October 2009 we were shocked by the devastating earthquake that rocked Padang, Indonesia. The disaster caused hundreds of deaths, severe infrastructural damage and loss of property and desperately needed help from neighboring countries.
Wherein Malaysian citizens are constantly attentive on the plights of their neighbors, The MRA has sent medical and emergency aid assistance to affected areas in Padang.
The main objective is to send emergency relief aid, conduct ground checks* and mobilize various emergency programs and “pasca gempa” for consecutive MRA missions.
To date, MRA has successfully built more than 400 houses in Padang under the name “Rumah Syukur” on top of the original housing sites. In addition, the MRA has also assisted with constructing orphanages there.
