Thailand ‘s internal crisis took place since the 17th century when the northern Siamese colonized and attacked the Pattani Malay Sultanate government in the south from being part of the Siamese territory after the British recognized the territory after signing the Anglo-Siam Agreement 1902 without the consent of the Malay population in the territory of Pattani and separating the territory into two (2) parts of Southern Region (covering Pattani, Narathiwat, Songkhla and Yala) submitted to the Siamese government while the Northern Territory of the Malay Peninsula (which includes Perlis, Kedah, Kelantan and Terengganu) the English party.
Initially, Pattani Muslims revolted and became increasingly enthusiastic in fighting for the independence of Pattani.
After nearly decades of calm conditions and Muslims in the Southern Region of Thailand trying to live a normal life, in 2004 during the reign of Thaksin Shinawatra, one (1) massacre of massacres was committed by the armed forces of Muslims in Southern Thailand.
Among the incidents that left a deep impression were the 2004 Takbai Tragedy and the Krisek Mosque attack, Pattani 2005. Many men were arrested for no solid reason and tortured to date no news and it did. Many women who have lost their husbands or close family members have to run a business to support their families. About 2,000 children become orphans.
