[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]“When Ramadhan enters, the gates of mercy are opened, the gates of hell are closed and the devils are chained.” (Al-Bukhari and Muslim).

Ramadhan is the month of rahmah, blessing and many virtues. Ramadhan opens up opportunities for Muslims to perform acts of worship to increase our iman and taqwa. Rasulullah SAW encouraged his ummah to increase the practice of giving zakat, sedeqah, reading Qur’an, and perform obligatory and supplementary prayers. Every action and good deeds in Ramadhan shall be multiplied by 10 to 700 times rewards.

In Islam, fasting is primarily an ibadah for spiritual discipline and self-control, teaching us to be patient to abstain from food, drink, immoral acts, controlling anger and intimacy during daylight hours in Ramadhan. Healthy Muslim adult fast in Ramadhan from dawn to dust and obligated for 29 or 30 days of this month and at the end of which is followed by Syawal.

It is a month in which the Qur’an was revealed. We are encouraged to read the Qur’an as much as possible within this month and aim to complete the entire Qur’an in these 30 days. Besides that, Ramadhan is also a month of seeking the mercy and forgiveness of Allah SWT. The period between one Ramadhan and next, all of those sins committed and accumulated where we have wronged ourselves, these sins can be forgiven and we can ask Allah SWT for his forgiveness and for a fresh page.
